Terms of Use
Last updated July 25, 2026
These terms govern your use of The Sacred Act. By using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who these terms are with
These terms are an agreement between you and The Sacred Act LLC, 584 Castro Street #3185, San Francisco, CA 94114 (“we”, “us”).
What the service is
The Sacred Act creates personal guided meditations. Each practice is composed for you in the moment by an AI guide drawing on a corpus of contemplative techniques from real traditions, shaped by what you share and, if you allow it, by your body’s signals and the shape of your day.
Because each meditation is generated, no two are identical, and we cannot guarantee that any particular meditation, technique, phrasing, or voice will be available or repeatable.
Not medical or mental health care
Please read this section carefully.
The Sacred Act offers contemplative support. It is not medical care, not mental health treatment, not diagnosis, and not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Nothing in the app is medical advice.
The app may read heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, and sleep data to shape your practice. These readings are not diagnostic, are not reviewed by any clinician, and must not be relied on to detect, treat, or monitor any medical condition. The app also infers emotional state from vocal tone; those inferences are not a psychological assessment.
If you are in crisis, or concerned about your physical or mental health, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services. Meditation can occasionally surface difficult emotional material; if that happens, stop and seek appropriate support.
Your account
You may take your first meditation without an account. After that, an account is required so your practice can be saved and returned to.
You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure. Tell us at support@thesacredact.com if you believe someone else is using it.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the app.
Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
The Sacred Act offers auto-renewing subscriptions:
- Sacred Act Plus, Annual — $199 per year, beginning with a 7 day free trial for new subscribers.
- Sacred Act Plus, Monthly — $19 per month, with no trial.
Prices are in U.S. dollars and may differ in other storefronts. The price is always shown before you purchase. The following terms apply:
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Free trial. If your plan includes a free trial, it begins immediately and no payment is taken until it ends. Cancel before it ends and you are not charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel. Your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- How to cancel. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s own policies. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases. You may request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Price changes. If we change the price, Apple will notify you and ask for your consent before the new price takes effect, in accordance with Apple’s rules.
Some practitioners may be given complimentary access for testing. That access is a courtesy, carries no charge, and may be ended at any time.
Your content is yours
The words you share, your reflections, and the meditations created for you belong to you. You grant us only the licence we need to operate the service: to store your content, process it (including sending it to the AI providers that compose and voice your meditation), and weave it into the practices created for you. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in routine backups, which age out.
We will not publish your content, sell it, or use it to advertise to you.
Sharing a meditation
If you choose to share a meditation, you create a link that anyone holding it can open. Only share what you are comfortable being seen. Deleting the underlying meditation removes its share link.
Acceptable use
Use the app for your own practice. Do not:
- attempt to break, probe, overload, or reverse engineer the service;
- circumvent a paywall, entitlement check, or usage limit;
- resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the meditations or the technique corpus;
- use the app to harm anyone, or in any way that breaks the law.
We may suspend or end access for misuse.
Intellectual property
The app, its design, its voice, the technique corpus and its editorial treatment, and everything else we provide remain ours (or our licensors’). These terms do not give you any right to our trademarks or branding.
Source texts drawn from contemplative traditions are used in public-domain translations, or are our own. Our commentary, selection, arrangement, and adaptation of those texts is original work and remains ours.
Availability
We aim to keep the app working, but we do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error free. Meditation generation depends on third-party AI services that can fail or change. We may modify or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your practice.
Disclaimers and limits of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 199.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Termination
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time, in Settings. Deleting your account deletes your data, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms. Your subscription remains governed by Apple’s terms, and ending your access here does not by itself cancel a subscription with Apple.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app grows. We will update the date at the top, and for material changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Courts located in San Francisco County, California will have jurisdiction over any dispute, except that either of us may bring a claim in small claims court. Nothing here deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in the country where you live.
There is no forced-arbitration clause and no class-action waiver in these terms. If you have a dispute with us, you keep every option the law gives you.
Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. To the extent the App Store’s standard EULA requires additional terms, those terms apply. You agree that Apple, and Apple’s subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
