The Sacred Act composes a guided meditation for you, in the moment, from what you tell it and from the traditions it draws on. If something is not working, or you simply have a question, there is a person at the other end of the address below.
Reach a person
Write below and it comes straight to us, or email support@thesacredact.com if you prefer your own client. Either way we read every message and answer within two business days.
You can also tap Share Feedback inside the app, under Settings. That reaches us directly and arrives with your app version attached, which usually saves a round trip.
The Sacred Act is operated by The Sacred Act LLC, 584 Castro Street #3185, San Francisco, CA 94114.
The practice
What is The Sacred Act? A companion for contemplative practice. Instead of playing recordings from a fixed library, it creates each meditation for you in the moment, drawing on real contemplative traditions and whatever you choose to share about where you are.
How is each meditation created? An AI guide composes your meditation from a corpus of technique records drawn from real source texts. Each record preserves the practice as its tradition teaches it, and every quote in the corpus has been verified against the original. The guide’s craft is in the fit: which practice meets this moment, and in your circumstances.
Are the teachings authentic? The techniques come from primary sources: the Visuddhimagga, the Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta, the Carmelite mystics, and many more. Each tradition is interpreted on its own terms, never blended into one generic voice. The reading library holds the source texts themselves, so you can always see where a practice comes from.
What is the offering on the Path tab? The offering is the practice the guide has chosen for you right now. It listens to what you share, and with your permission to the shape of your day and your body’s signals, then offers the practice it believes will meet you best. You can accept it or ask for something else.
Subscription and billing
What is free, and what does a subscription unlock? Your first meditation is free, complete, and fully yours. A subscription unlocks unlimited meditations, the full reading library, the Foundations course, and biometric integration with Apple Health.
How does the free trial work? The annual plan begins with a 7 day free trial. Apple reminds you before the trial converts to a paid subscription, and you can cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings. Cancel during the trial and you are never charged.
How do I restore purchases? Open Settings and tap Restore Purchases. This asks the App Store to reattach an active subscription to this device. If nothing appears, make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase.
How do I cancel or request a refund? Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so both happen through Apple rather than through us:
- Cancel. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Sacred Act, then Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refund. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account. Apple decides refunds; we are not able to issue them on your behalf.
Privacy and your data
What does connecting Apple Health do? With your permission, Sacred Act reads recent heart rate and HRV so the practice can meet your body where it is. Health data shapes your practice and nothing else. It stays on your device and in your own account, is never used for advertising, and is never sold.
Why does the app use the microphone? So you can speak instead of type. Your spoken reflection is transcribed and woven into your meditation. Audio is processed for the session and not stored.
Is my reflection private? Yes. Your reflections belong to you and live in your own account, protected by row level security. They are used only to shape your future meditations. You can read, export, or erase them anytime.
How do I export or delete my data? Open Settings, then Manage Data. Export My Data hands you a complete copy as a file. You can also delete all practice data, or delete your account entirely, which removes everything. No support ticket, no waiting period.
Using the app
What are background sounds? A quiet sound field beneath the guide’s voice, like rain or wind. The app remembers what you played last and continues from there. You can change it from the player anytime.
What is the Foundations course? A 30 session introduction to contemplative practice, built from the same verified corpus. It walks from the first sit toward a settled daily practice, one technique at a time.
What is the Mirror? The app’s reflection of your practice back to you: patterns in what you bring, how your body responds, and how the practice is deepening over time. It grows more textured the longer you practice.
Does it work offline? Not yet. Each meditation is generated fresh for the moment you are in, which needs a connection. There is no fixed library to download.
How do I change the guide voice? Choose a voice when you begin a meditation. The app remembers your last choice and keeps using it until you choose another.
A note on what this app is not

The readings it takes from Apple Health are not diagnostic and are not reviewed by any clinician. If you are in crisis or concerned about your health, please seek professional help.
