Discord Quick-Start Guide
If you’re brand new to the tech space, excited but a little overwhelmed, start here — Discord.
Get early access, be the first to hear news, join tech communities, talk directly to companies, and of course, generate AI art. All of this goes down on discord.
Discord is basically a big group chat of people all interested in that same tool or brand.
This is where conversations in this space happen before they get to instagram or any other platforms.
It looks overwhelming
at first, but it’s simple.
Servers
On the left hand side are all of the group chats.
These are all of the different companies and communities that you can join. You’ll be able to talk to other members of the community. Some companies like Midjourney hold “office-hours”, where you can talk directly to their developers to give feedback and ask questions.
Channels
Within each group chat are different conversational topics.
This keeps the conversation within Discord more organized. So when you have a question about a specific feature or product you are asking the right people. A conversation can be set to have video, audio and text capabilities. You can also organize the different projects you’re working on in your own provide server.
Direct contact and real conversation
This app is great because, without the vanity of photo based platforms, it allows companies to have real conversations directly with their community.
Maybe in the future, you’ll have your own community here? It is incredibly valuable to have direct, engaged contact with your audience.
Image Generation
This is also where you can access Midjourney, by using the chat box to enter prompts for generating AI images.
More on that later. Just start with downloading Discord.
